Firefox 3.5 - Update Drag and Drop email attachments for Gmail

Firefox 3.5 is out and is fast. Some old add-ins no longer work, including the absolutely essential
Drag and Drop email attachment extension. Firefox doesn't seem to know about the upgraded extension, but it's here: http://www.teslacore.it/projects/dragdropupload/dragdropupload.xpi

Google Tasks in Firefox Sidebar - EASY!

Pre. If you don't see the sidebar, go to view sidebar and choose anything.
1. Open https://mail.google.com/tasks/ig?pli=1 (you should see your tasks)
2. Drag the url to the bookmark to the bookmark toolbar
3. Right-click the new bookmark and select Properties.
4. Check the "Load this bookmark in the sidebar" box, then click Save Changes.
5. Close and reopen firefox. You should have your tasks there.

UPDATE:
The only downside is that Firefox's sidebar doesn't automatically refresh.
Solution: Install All in One Sidebar

Hierarchical labels (nested folder-like) in Gmail

One of Gmail's big limitations to me was that it lacked nested folders for emails. Labels substitute for folders, but you can't nest them.

I just found a site that allows you to add this capability. It was a snap to do in Firefox (two clicks).

Noname attachment sent by Apple Mail to Gmail

Someone sent me a .doc file that I couldn't open because of the
way Apple Mail encodes files.

Here's a site that will decode the file for you.

To avoid the problem in the future, here are the instructions:
"Sending via Apple Mail
Before sending attachments via Apple Mail, make sure that under the
menu Edit> Attachments, the option Always Send Windows-Friendly
Attachments is checked. Selecting this option helps to avoid problems
even when the recipient of the email is using a Mac."

Reply to all in Gmail

I use reply to all for an enormous amount of collaborative work email. The "reply" link
at the top of Gmail messages makes it too easy to just reply to the sender.

Great keyboard shortcut: Hit A while reading a message and Gmail opens a reply to all.
Hit Control-A and it opens a new window with the response to all.

Now if I can just make that an automatic response.

When will you run out of gmail space?

I've switched completely to Gmail and have been digging it.
Instead of over quota warnings from my university, there is
plenty of room.

I discovered a cool calculator to determine when, given Gmail's
ever increasing space allocation and your current usage, you'd
ever run out of space.

The answer for me: "never."

Sweet.

Drag and Drop Attachments in Gmail

I've switched to gmail as my main work email. One drawback was
the cumbersome method of attaching files via the browse button.

Solution: There's a Firefox add-in that allows you to drag and drop attachments
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2190

Safari (at least on the Mac) already had this capability
